  • Yes! Seniors who don’t want to miss a beat with full guidance often benefit from having both!

While both books support college readiness, they are designed for different stages of the journey. The 11th-grade book focuses on exploration, academic positioning, strategy, and early planning.

The 12th-grade book shifts into application execution, including essays, applications, deadlines, and decision-making.

  • Not at all! These books are designed for students and families who may be navigating college admissions for the first time and those looking to elevate their strategies to new heights.

Every concept is broken down step-by-step so students don’t need prior counseling experience, insider knowledge, or additional resources to follow along.

  • Yes, in fact we encourage it!

Students can use them independently, but Camino to College also includes structured parent-centered newsletters and educator or counselor facilitation in classroom or advising settings.

  • Finding online information can feel overwhelming, especially when students don’t know where to start or what questions to ask.

Camino to College is designed to go a step further by providing a structured step-by-step roadmap that guides students from planning through application completion.

  • All QR codes remain the same for ease of use, but the resources they link to are reviewed and updated annually each July before the start of the school year.

This ensures that all materials stay current, relevant, and aligned with the most up-to-date admissions information.

  • 11th Grade Planner

You should have completed your resume, personal statement, college research, college list, summer plans, and college connection plan.

    12th Grade Planner

The focus is on college application execution and decision-making.

By the end of this stage, students will have 10–12 college applications completed, letters of recommendation requested, affordability comparisons for each school, and ready-to-use scholarship and appeal templates (if needed).

  • While the books are primarily designed to support students pursuing two or four-year universities, they also help students make informed decisions about a range of post-secondary options. The focus is on helping students understand their choices and choose a path that aligns with their goals.

  • It depends. The book aligns with the academic school year (August- July).

Most students complete materials on a monthly basis, but each pathway is different. Some students will move faster or slower than others depending on their college plans. Each path deserves its own their own pacing!

  • All Camino to College templates and tools are accessible through Google Suite, so no special software is required.

Students will use tools like Google Docs and Google Sheets to complete activities, reflect on prompts, and track their progress.

Everything is designed to be accessible from a phone, tablet, or computer with an internet connection.
